Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test IMU CET will be held in the month of December 2018. This test will be conducted to select the candidates for February 2019 batch for Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) course leading to B.Sc. Nautical Science.

There are recent changes in rules for courses in Merchant Navy, made by Government of India.
Candidates  who are planning to appear for IMU CET December 2018 must take note of these new rules and regulations as this is a major change in Maritime Education.

The latest Rule is as per Director General of Shipping circular No. 30 of 2018 Dated 24. November. 2018.

As per this circular, All training institutes must provide 100% sponsorship to all its students. Letter of sponsorship confirmation should be given to the student before admission, and a copy of that should be submitted to The Director General  of Shipping.

In other words, if you are selected for any institute via IMU CET then your job is confirmed before joining the course.
Keeping this in mind candidate must start preparing from now only in order to get a good rank in IMU CET.

December IMU CET will be held in the last week of December 2018. Final date has not been announced yet.
IMU CET is conducted twice in an year. In the month of December and in the month of June. December IMU CET is ONLY for Diploma in Nautical Science courses and NOT for B.Sc in Nautical Science and B. Tech. Marine Engineering Course.
