Always join a college with very good placement record, so that you can positively get a Job after completion of your training. Presently job scenario is very bad and getting a job is very tough. If you do not do your course from a good Institute, getting a job will be very difficult.
Best way is to get a sponsorship from shipping company before doing the course. If you get company sponsorship, after completion of GME course you will get Job in the same company which has sponsored you. This way your job and career will be secured.

1.1. Anglo Eastern Maritime Academy, Karzat Mumbai,
§ Best college for GME course. This is the institute of world’s largest ship management company. All students get a job from this Institute. World class training structure, but fees is high.
2.2. Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies, Lonawla
§ Another excellent college for GME course. This is the institute of Singapore based , Executive ship management company. All students get a job from this Institute. World class training structure, but fees is high.
3.3. Great Eastern Shipping Company Training Institute, Pune
§ One more excellent college for GME course. This is the Institute of India’s biggest shipping company, Great Eastern Shipping Company. All students get a job from this Institute. World class training structure, but fees is on higher side.
4.4. Institute of Marine Studies, Goa
§ Very reputed Institute. Most of the students get Job in world wide shipping companies. Fees structure is also affordable.
5.5. Cochin Shipyard Ltd., Kochi
§ Very good Institute to get on hand experience and practical knowledge. Semi govt. organization. Almost all students get job world wide. Fess is also less.

§ Very reputed Institute. Most of the students get Job in world wide shipping companies. Fees structure is also affordable.
7. 7 Indian Maritime University – Mumbai Campus ( MERI )
§ India’s premier GME course institute. Very good faculty and being a government college it’s fees is very less. Most of the students get Job from this college.
8. 8 Maritime Training Institute , Mumbai
§ One more excellent college for GME course. This is the Institute of Govt. of India shipping company, The Shipping Corporation of India. All students get a job from this Institute. World class training structure, fees is also very less.
9. 9 Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune
§ Average college, but the advantage is that one of the world’s biggest shipping company Bernhard Schulte Ship Management recruits from this Institute. Most of the students get accommodated in this company.
v All other Colleges listed below are although approved by Director General of Shipping, but their campus placement record is not very good. Although theyr provide job to some of its students, most of them either don’t get job or get placed in average shipping companies.
